Emotional Regulation

A child with difficulty regulating emotions may have frequent outbursts, cry or shut down over small frustrations, or swing quickly between moods without clear cause.

Sensory Overload

A child experiencing sensory overwhelm might cover their ears at everyday sounds, refuse certain textures, or melt down in busy or bright environments that feel “too much”.

Untitled-6 (1).png

Disability,
Delay, or Challenge

This child may struggle because their brain is developing unevenly—making it harder to understand, communicate, or cope with expectations in everyday situations. These challenges often show up as trouble with schoolwork, delayed milestones, or frequent frustration and acting out.

IS YOUR CHILD STRUGGLING WITH

focus, processing information, emotional regulation, sensory overload, or a suspected learning disability, developmental delay, or behavioral challenge?

COMMON ISSUES WE SEE IN OUR CLINIC

We understand how overwhelming it can feel when your child is struggling—but there is real hope. We help children overcome learning, behavior, and developmental challenges by addressing what’s happening in the brain. With the right support, growth is not only possible—it’s expected.

Learning Issues

  • ADHD | ADD – Challenges with attention, focus, and impulse control, often tied to brain activity imbalances.

  • Dyslexia – Reading and language-based learning disability related to how the brain processes written and spoken words.

  • Dysgraphia – Difficulty with writing, including issues with spelling, handwriting, or putting thoughts on paper.

  • Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) – Brain struggles to interpret sounds accurately, affecting language development and focus.

  • Visual Processing Disorders – Brain struggles to interpret visual information correctly, affecting reading, writing, and spatial understanding.

  • Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD) – Impacts visual-spatial, motor, and social skills despite strong verbal abilities.

  • Executive Functioning Challenges – Difficulties with planning, organizing, memory, self-control, or initiating tasks.

  • Learning Disabilities (General or Specific) – Difficulties with reading, math, writing, or comprehension despite average intelligence.

Behavior Issues

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) – Characterized by defiance, irritability, and frequent arguments with authority figures.

  • Behavioral Regulation Issues – Problems with emotional control, impulsivity, or aggression, often stemming from brain region imbalances.

  • Emotional Dysregulation – Difficulty managing emotional responses, often tied to limbic system or prefrontal cortex imbalances.

  • Anxiety (Neurologically Rooted) – Anxiety stemming from dysregulation in the autonomic nervous system or overactivity in certain brain regions.

  • Tic Disorders / Tourette Syndrome – Involuntary movements or vocalizations related to dysfunction in brain circuits responsible for movement regulation.

Development Issues

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – Affects communication, social interaction, and sensory processing; therapy supports brain regulation.

  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) – Difficulty interpreting sensory input, leading to over- or under-responsiveness; therapy aids sensory integration.

  • Dyspraxia – Affects motor planning and coordination, making physical tasks harder to execute smoothly.

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) – Delays in fine and/or gross motor skills, leading to clumsiness or difficulties in daily tasks.

  • Motor Development Delays – Slower acquisition of movement milestones, indicating delays in neural pathway development.

  • Speech and Language Delays – Delays in developing spoken language or comprehension, often rooted in brain development.

  • Post-Concussion Syndrome (Pediatric) – Persistent symptoms after a concussion affecting learning and behavior.

While some of these conditions we treat directly, some of these conditions are co-managed with other healthcare providers, tutors, teachers, and parents. We can provide a solid foundation of proper brain development and function that others can build on.

OUR APPROACH TO TREATMENT

HIGHLY INDIVIDUALIZED + CUSTOM-DESIGNED

NG Logo_Transparent.png

At Lifestream Brain + Body Clinic, we take a highly individualized approach to treating children with learning, developmental, and behavioral challenges. One of the primary ways we do this is through our custom-designed NeuroGro program. While NeuroGro is structured like a program administratively-each visit is 30 minutes and many therapies appear similar on the surface-clinically, it is anything but a one-size-fits-all approach. Unlike many standardized brain-based programs that apply the same therapies to every patient, NeurGro is uniquely tailored to each child's specific neurological needs. Each therapy session is customized-from how we stimulate a particular hemisphere of the brain, to which eye movements are used (or deliberately avoided), to the specific at-home exercises prescribed. This level of precision is made possible through an in-depth neurological examination conducted by a board-certified Functional Neurologist. By identifying and targeting the unique areas of dysfunction in the brain, we can support more efficient neurodevelopment, helping children not only function better-but thrive.

Each 30-Minute NeuroGro Appointment Consists of a Variety of Exercises + Therapies Which May Include
